Partnering with South Dublin County Council
We have been working with various departments at South Dublin County Council for the last three years. We have designed and developed many Drupal based websites and applications for the council. Our most recent work promotes citizen engagement with the upcoming County Development Plan.
The council had made the decision to migrate from another open source CMS product in 2011 and reached out to agencies with Drupal expertise in Ireland. As a leading Drupal agency, we were chosen to complete the work. The councils internal IT team had developed a structure and set of graphic concepts for the website.
Upon evaluating the brief we proposed a solution that would allow the council to maintain the website without our intervention. We delivered a responsive solution with various process driven functions, including a new document management tool. The council website integrates with various internal systems developed by the council IT department including road works data, traffic cameras and journey times.
A comprehensive independent review of our work was undertaken by an external supplier intelligence company. Read what SDCC had to say about working with iterate.
South Dublin Development Plan
The council are undertaking the creation of a development plan. The new plan will shape the future growth of the County over the six year period from 2016 to 2022 and beyond. In previous plans, it had been somewhat difficult to encourage and get citizen input into the plan. The new website was created to communicate the process and promote engagement between the council and the people living in the county.
The website was shortlisted as a finalist at the 2014 Web Awards as best Local Government website in Ireland.
South Dublin Libraries
Prior to engaging with us, South Dublin Libraries had a Drupal 6 website developed. The website is a key component of communicating the value and offerings to citizens in the council. We initially provided ongoing support for the library website and over time have built more features into the website, including an integration with their external library catalogue system.
